THE BCC CREW STUDYING AT A COFFEE SHOP WITH SOME PASTERIES
Last fall I was very disappointed in the cancellation of the DTS I was going to staff in Iceland, but God had a plan. During this time of waiting I continued to work and also started some online classes at Colorado Christian University. I knew that I really wanted to leave and go somewhere, anywhere in January, and I had heard of another YWAM school called the Bible Core Course. One of the very first places that came up on the YWAM website was Denver, Colorado. What a coincidence. I was already taking classes from a school in Colorado, just a few minutes away from the YWAM base, it seemed like a sign. So I figured, why not, I will go there.
Things came together and I had enough money in my account from working all summer to go to this Bible school with YWAM and continue to take my classes online at CCU. My boyfriend, James, that I meet on my DTS decided to come too. So he and I drove from Orgeon to Colorado to start this next YWAM journey. Unfortunately, as some of you heard, when we were only 5 hours into our trip, we hit a deer. Through that experience God was so faithful and blessed us in many ways. We also had so much support and love from my family and friends back home. My dad brought us another car and took my bug home to fix it. And we were on our way again.
Being at this school has been an amazing experience. My days are insanely packed with reading the Bible, CCU homework, and bible study prepping. I have learned so much about the big picture of the Bible, the intricate similarities between the books, some controversial topics, and above all how it all points to Jesus. I think one of the crazy cool things that has happened is my classes at CCU and my classes in the BCC are overlapping with content. I do not know how God does it but he points out things that we need to work on in that season. So, things like public speaking; I took an oral communications class online and then I led a couple Bible studies and I will be doing a teaching next week. We have been so busy we haven't done much ministry, but we did go to Denver rescue mission and helped serve lunch to homeless people. This place serves almost 2,000 people a day! It was great to partner with them even if it was just for a few hours.
There are seven of us in this Bible School and we have so much fun studying together. We are almost done with reading the Bible all the way through, and also almost done with the whole school! I thought this was going to be just a three month adventure here in Denver, but the DTS that is here, invited us to go with them to Mexico on their outreach. James and I prayed about it and felt the Lord saying "yes, why not?". So, my trip has been extended until the end of May! I am excited to be back in Mexico and serving people again. We graduate from our Bible school on the 26th of March and then we leave for Mexico the very next day!
Thank you all so much for the continued prayers and the financial support. You do not know how blessed I am to have you all pouring into my life and encouraging me through these adventures!
