Happy Spring everyone!
Most of you know the craziness that has ensued over the last couple of months. It has definitely been a season of trusting the Lord in the unknown. But now we are leading into a new season of life.
About two months ago James and I traveled to British Columbia, Canada, in order for James to not overstay in the U.S. as a Canadian. Unfortunately, through a series of events, James was not allowed back into the States. And he will not be able to get back into the country until his green card is approved. It was shocking but the Lord was with us in those moments and provided in miraculous ways: with new friends to meet, a place to stay, and food to eat. After coming up with a plan for our next steps, James made his way to Nova Scotia, on the east coast, to stay with his parents. I came back to Sweet Home to wrap up our work with Youth For Christ and to attend some necessary doctor's appointments. With this unexpected situation, we have been apart for two months now. But I am excited to go to Canada and see James in less than a week! There are also stipulations on how long I can stay in Canada, but, at this point, we are taking things one step at a time.
We have had a wonderful time working with Youth For Christ and living in Sweet Home for a short season. Even just these past few months I have had so much fun with the students running around outside, helping host a glow night with fun games and glow in the dark paint, and challenging them to read their Bibles all the way through. We also were leading Husky Huddle, where we hand out free food to the high schoolers, and it has been a very encouraging space to see students open up and a great opportunity to pray for them. Although we are putting things on pause to work on James' green card process, there are still wonderful people in the area continuing the ministries we were helping with. There are definitely things happening; lives being changed and renewed within the youth of Sweet Home. Please continue to pray for these students as they grow up and into the people God has created them to be.
You can be praying for us in this season of waiting as the green card forms process. Pray that we can be present and trust in the Lord's timing. While we are in Canada, James will hopefully find a job (he has been applying to many already) and I have been looking into doing some studying online. I would also like to ask for prayers for my health as I go to another country and things aren't as easily accessible for me. We don't know where this turn in our lives will lead to, whether we come back to Sweet Home to do ministry or feel God calling us somewhere else, we are resting in his authority and staying attuned to his voice for future plans.
We really appreciate everyone's support financially, in prayer, even physically (helping us move out of the house we were staying in) and checking up on how we are doing emotionally. It is great to be a part of the body of Christ and see people care for one another in times of struggle. We thank you all and pray the Lord will bless you and lead you in your own lives too.
God Bless!
Anna & James Rowsell
